Connect your competitor price data to Claude, Cursor or a script

October 18, 2026 · 2 min read

Competitor prices are useful in a dashboard, and more useful when your tools can read them. Tensorbasis exposes the same data and actions through a hosted MCP server, an HTTP API and a command-line tool, all with the same API key, and all available on the free plan.

What an agent can read

  • Your account, plan and limits.
  • Your stores and how fresh each catalog is.
  • Products, with prices, history, recent changes and the competitor products matched to them.
  • Price gaps based on the matches you approved.
  • The queue of suggested matches waiting for a decision.
  • Every recorded competitor change.

What it can do, if you allow it

A key only does what you ticked when you created it. With the right permissions an agent can approve or reject suggested matches (up to 50 in one call), ask for fresh suggestions, undo a decision, add a competitor, remove a competitor with an explicit confirmation, and change your display currency or email settings. Every match decision made through the API is listed, so you can audit it and undo it.

It cannot change prices in your store, see billing details or send messages.

Connect Claude Code or Cursor

Create a key on the Developers page of your account, then add the hosted server. In Claude Code:

  • Run claude mcp add with the transport set to http, the name tensorbasis, the address https://app.tensorbasis.com/api/mcp and an Authorization header carrying your key.

The Developers page shows the exact command and the configuration block for Cursor and other clients, with your address filled in.

Ideas that work well

  • Ask your agent which five products have the biggest gap against your closest competitor this week.
  • Have it review the suggested-match queue and approve only the pairs where SKU or barcode agree, leaving the rest for you.
  • Export the full price history and let it look for products where you were undercut right after a promotion.
  • Write a short script that posts the weekly gaps to your team chat.

Download everything

Each dataset (stores, products, price gaps, changes and price history) can be downloaded as CSV or JSON lines from the Developers page, or with the command-line tool, so your data is never stuck in the app.

Keeping it safe

  • Give each key the smallest set of permissions. A reporting script needs read access only.
  • Keys expire in 90 days by default. You can choose a shorter life, or none if you accept the risk, and you can revoke a key at any time.
  • Treat store text as untrusted. Product titles come from other people's websites. Results carry a notice saying so, and your agent should treat them as data, never as instructions.
  • Limits apply. Your plan's limits apply to everything an agent does, including the free plan's weekly manual checks.

Start

Create an account, open the Developers page and make a key. The free price-gap checker is the quickest way to see the kind of data your agent will be working with.

See where your prices stand
