Tensorbasis vs Price2Spy: what is different and who each suits

October 18, 2026 · 2 min read

Tensorbasis is our product, so we have limited this comparison to facts Price2Spy publishes, and we say where the choice depends on you. Details are from Price2Spy's pricing page and its FAQ as read on 18 October 2026.

What Price2Spy is

Price2Spy is a price monitoring service. Its pricing page shows Starter, Basic and Premium plans, each with a free-trial button for the first two. The page we read shows no prices for Starter or Basic, and Premium is "price upon request". Third-party listings quote different figures from each other, so we do not repeat them here. Check the live page or ask the company.

The pricing model

According to Price2Spy's FAQ, its plans are based on the number of product URLs monitored, not on the number of competitors, and each product page counts as one URL. By that definition, one product tracked at three competitors is three URLs. Its pricing page lists up to 10 competitors on Starter, and up to 8 price checks a day on Premium. Its FAQ says Starter sends a daily digest of price changes, while Basic alerts are instant, and API access is a Premium feature.

Tensorbasis counts sources, not URLs. The free plan is your store plus four sources, whole catalogs, checked weekly. Paid plans are Growth ($29 a month billed yearly, $35 monthly, 50 sources, up to three checks a day) and Scale ($65 yearly, $75 monthly, 150 sources). No plan limits the number of products in a source, and API, MCP and CLI access come with every plan.

If you want to watch a long tail of a competitor's products without picking them one by one, per-source counting suits that. If you want to watch a fixed list of specific URLs, per-URL pricing is a natural fit.

Checks and alerts

Price2Spy's top published frequency is up to eight checks a day on Premium, which is higher than the three a day Tensorbasis offers on paid plans. For markets where prices move through the day, that matters. For most small stores, a daily or three-times-daily view is enough, and weekly is enough to start.

Matching

We have not tested how Price2Spy matches products. Tensorbasis proposes matches from SKUs, barcodes, catalog IDs, brands and titles and always asks you to approve them; wrong matches are the main way price tools mislead, so the approval is deliberate.

Where each fits

  • Price2Spy if you need very frequent checks, or a plan you can scale up to many thousands of URLs, and you are happy to talk to sales for the top tier.
  • Tensorbasis if you want to start free, watch whole catalogs, review every match yourself, and use the data from your own scripts or AI tools.

Both offer a trial route, so the cheapest comparison is to point each at the same competitor and see whose report you would actually use on Monday morning.
